Misunderstanding (Mitobe X Reader) Chapter 13

               “Wow! Your temple really has your back (Last Name)-chan!” Koganei comments as she stretches in preparation for her game. (Name) nodded as Mitobe pushed on her back slightly to allow her to fully stretch.

               ‘Yeah, Ichitaro-San even gave me my “Lucky item” for the day’ she motions as she sits back up ‘he’s way too into Oha asa. Ironically it’s a deer plush…’ Koganei stifled his laugh with Mitobe at that last line. She gave them a smile before standing and thanking Mitobe for helping her. Her teammates were all finishing up their stretches and were gathered around the coach.

               Mitobe stood there for a little bit before smiling and heading for a seat in the bleachers. Koganei noticed his friend’s slightly odd behavior. He raised an eyebrow at his friend.

               “Hey, Mitobe, you okay?” Mitobe nodded with a nervous smile. Koganei narrowed his eyes and hummed an all knowing ‘mhmm’ before sitting down in the bleachers.

               “Ma, alright, listen here. Work your hardest today and show them your power. I don’t want anyone slacking today. Expect laps if you do slack.” He then picked up the sound of people outside the gym, even though no one else but him heard it. “Ma… this is going to be a loud game…” Ito then went and sat down, telling Umeko Maki that she would be out first according to his plan.

               “YES! Alright girls~! Are you ready~?! I think Ito-kun just heard the other team if he’s acting like that~! Woo hoo~!” Moto was pumped and began to sway back and forth from excitement.

               ‘D-does someone want to calm her down…?’ (Name) motioned out to the younger lavender haired girl next to her.

               “Hm? Calm her down? I think that’s Coach’s job or something…” Kamiko replied as she counted the steps it took to tie her laces. “Hmmm… although the chances of that are 87%... and the percentage seems to be going down as we speak, he seems to be engulfed in thought.”

               ‘… Y-you calculated that?’

               “Of course I did. I even calculated that you were going to say that.” Kamiko smiled up at (Name) “and by the way, I calculated that with your help, we currently have a 58% chance of winning today. But data shifts constantly until the end occurs.”

               ‘I see…’ 

    The doors to the gym suddenly burst open to reveal a group of girls as they saunter in confidently.

    “Hahaha! This should be easy! Seirin is a new team!”

    “Yeah! This practice game shouldn’t be any harder than a warm up!”

    (Name) physically twitched.

    “Hm? You okay? Do you know these people?” Kamiko asked as she looked up to her upperclassman

    ‘You could say that…’

    Up in the bleachers, Mitobe also twitched.

    “Eh? What’s the matter Mitobe? You seem tense.” Koganei asks his friend. The entire boys team then turn to the silent male. He motioned out a few things before Koganei tensed up himself “WHAT! Really!? THEM!?”

    Back down on the court, (Name) was glaring

    ‘Those were the girls that were beating up a helpless deer yesterday…’ (Name) glared at the opposing team. ‘Kamiko, do your best today, okay? I don’t think they recognize me yet…’

    Kamiko stood there as (Name) made her way to her position on the court. Kamiko stood there and calculated for a few seconds before smiling.
